Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this recipe divide the batter between two tube pans instead of one cake pan?

The recipe splits the batter evenly between two greased and floured 10-inch tube pans, which gives each cake a thinner profile that bakes through in just 35 minutes at 340°F. A single pan with the full batter would need considerably longer and risks a dense, underbaked centre.

Do I need to do anything special to prepare the pans before baking?

Yes — the instructions say to grease and flour both 10-inch tube pans before adding the batter. This prevents sticking and helps the finished cakes release cleanly after the 35-minute bake.
