- 4.5 ounces 72% chocolate
- 6 tablespoons (85g) butter
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup (150g) sugar
- 1/4 cup (40g) flour
- 3 tablespoons (25g) cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) salt
- 1/2 cup (110g) heavy cream
- Handful of walnuts
- Handful of marshmallows
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine eggs and sugar, and beat with an electric mixer until fluffy and pale yellow, about 3 minutes.
- Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, and gently fold into the mixture until just combined.
- Pour the mixture into the pre-made pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is slightly cracked.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the pie, and top with a handful of walnuts and marshmallows.
- Place under a broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and slightly melted.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For a more intense chocolate flavor, use a higher percentage chocolate. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. To make it nut-free, omit the walnuts or replace them with a nut-free alternative.
