Description
Sweet pears and salty gorgonzola combine beautifully on this crispy flatbread. A simple appetizer or light dinner, perfect with Riesling.
Ingredients
- Store-bought or homemade pizza dough/flatbread
- Thinly sliced pear or apple
- Crumbled gorgonzola (goat cheese, feta or blue cheese)
- Shredded Italian blend or mozzarella cheese
- Sliced prosciutto (cut into thick pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to the temperature specified in the dough instructions.
- Prepare the dough and other ingredients according to their instructions.
- Precook the dough if the instructions indicate to do so.
- Layer the dough with shredded Italian cheese, then top with pear slices, prosciutto, and gorgonzola cheese chunks.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
- Cut and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, pre-bake the flatbread for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
- If pears are unavailable, thinly sliced apples make a delicious substitute.
- Store leftover flatbread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day, or freeze for longer storage.
