Description

There is something incredibly satisfying by being able to put together something like this, just using what you have in the cupboard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of mixed nuts (I use 1/2 almonds and 1/2 hazelnuts)
  • 1 cup of dried dates
  • 5 tablespoons of cocoapowder
  • 4 tablespoons of shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of agave sirup
  • Tiny bit of salt
  • Crushed nuts, cocoa powder and coconut for sprinkling.

Instructions

  1. Chop the nuts in a food processor until you have a rough flour with some bigger bits still left.
  2. Add the dates and chop in the food processor until the dates are integrated with the nuts and start sticking to the blade.
  3. Add the cocoa powder and coconut.
  4. Then add the agave sirup and a tiny bit of salt, whilst the food processor is on. Depending on your food processor, it might start struggling here. If that is the case, integrate the last ingredients in a bowl using your clean hands.
  5. Roll the mixture into walnut sized balls and roll in your preferred topping. Alternatively, press the mixture into a cake tin, refrigerate and cut into brownie sized bars.
  6. The brownies will keep forever in the fridge in a sealed container.
