Description

Sweet and comforting, this crisp features tender pears and apples beneath a buttery oatmeal topping. Perfect for a cozy night in!


Ingredients

  • 1 cups (237 ml) apple
  • 1 cups (237 ml) pear
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.75 cups (178 ml) Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsps maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsps coconut oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Oatmeal Topping
  2. In a small bowl, mix together oats, cinnamon, maple syrup, coconut oil, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Apple Pear Base
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. In an 8×8 inch baking dish or medium size bowl, mix together apples, pears, honey, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  6. Top evenly with oatmeal topping.
  7. Bake for 17 minutes or until topping is golden brown and sides are bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes and serve as is or with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.

Notes

  • For a crispier topping, bake for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • If pears or apples are particularly juicy, drain off excess liquid before adding the topping to prevent a soggy crisp.
  • Store leftover crisp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven.
