- 1/2 cup (40g) oats
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (24g) flour
- 1/2 tsp (1.5g) cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (57g) butter, softened
- 2+ cups (57+g) mixed berries (raspberries, marionberries, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse the berries in a colander and let the excess water drip off.
- In a mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and softened butter. Mix until the ingredients form a crumbly texture.
- Place the rinsed berries in a greased baking pan or divide them among individual oven-safe ramekins.
- Sprinkle the oatmeal crumble mixture evenly over the berries.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve plain or with a scoop of ice cream for a la mode.
Notes
This dessert is very flexible; you can adjust the portion size or use different fruits like peaches or apples. Serve it plain or with ice cream. It’s also a healthier option than pie due to less butter and added whole grains from the oats. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
