Description

This would be fun to roll with some kids, especially since it’s so easy. It also melts in your mouth a bit more readily than the store-brand.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 ounces dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Lyle’s Golden Syrup

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Once melted, remove from heat and fold in the syrup and salt.
  2. Continue folding until completely combined–it will become a dough.
  3. Let cool to room temperature and then toss out on a cutting board and slice into rolls.
  4. Roll and wrap in candy paper.
  5. Store at room temperature.

Notes

*Wait until the chocolate comes to room temperature before rolling out. Try to resist the urge to put it in the fridge because within minutes, it will become rock-hard and a total nuisance. Of course, I don’t at all speak from experience…
