Description

Flavorful homemade garlic knots, perfect for game day or a cozy movie night. These soft, pillowy knots are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 tbsp butter (113 g) butter
  • 1/4 cups (59 ml) parsley leaves
  • 4-5 cloves garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 1 cups (237 ml) warm water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, and yeast; make a well in the center.
  2. Pour in olive oil and warm water; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, using dry flour as needed.
  4. Let the dough rise in an oiled bowl, covered with cling wrap, for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper or grease with butter.
  6. Divide the dough into 9 equal parts; roll into long tubes and tie into knots.
  7. Arrange the knots on the prepared tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, combine all garlic butter ingredients in a bowl.
  9. Remove the knots from the oven, brush with garlic butter, and bake for another 5 minutes.
  10. Serve warm with tomato salsa or another sauce.

Notes

  • For richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese in the garlic butter.
  • To prevent sticking, lightly flour your work surface when kneading the dough.
  • Store leftover garlic knots in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
