Description

Drizzled with homemade teriyaki sauce, this grilled tofu dish is a delightful appetizer that brings a taste of Japan to your table.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 block firm tofu
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut it into slices.
  2. Heat a stove-top griddle and grill the tofu slices until golden brown on both sides.
  3. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch to make the teriyaki sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce over the grilled tofu and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped chives before serving.
