Description

Layers of smoked turkey, savory ham, and melted Swiss and mozzarella cheeses are baked between flaky crescent roll dough for the ultimate comfort food meal. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing dish perfect for a weeknight dinner or game day.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (227g) package crescent rolls
  • 8 oz (227g) slices smoked turkey
  • 8 oz (227g) slices ham
  • 3 oz (85g) sliced gruyere or swiss cheese
  • 3 oz (85g) sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 2 roma tomato (sliced,salted and drained on paper towels)
  • 4 eggs (beaten)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons (5 to 10ml) whole grain mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Take the crescent roll from the package, unroll and separate into two even squares. Line the bottom of an 8 inch (20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper. Place in the one square of crescent dough, pressing the dough to fit the pan. Spread with the grainy mustard.
  2. Layer in half of the turkey, ham, and cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. Pour half the eggs over top. Repeat the layers, then add the tomatoes on top. Pepper to taste.
  3. Top with the remaining dough and pour the remaining eggs on top.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes covered with foil, and then another 10-15 minutes with the foil off.
  5. Let sit for 15-20 minutes before removing from pan.

Notes

  • Salting and draining the tomato slices helps prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy.
  • Ensure the oven is preheated to 350°F (177°C) for proper baking.
  • Allow the baked sandwich to sit for 15-20 minutes after baking before removing it from the pan to help it set and prevent it from falling apart.
