Description

These irresistibly sticky and sweet oven-baked wings are marinated in a simple honey-garlic glaze, making them the perfect crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 kgs (4.4 lbs) chicken wings
  • 1/3 cup (79ml) raw or organic honey
  • 1/4 cup (59ml) lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (59ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Add honey, lemon juice, water, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder and ginger to a small pot on medium-high heat. Once it starts to simmer, turn the temperature down to low and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
  2. Place chicken wings in a baking dish and pour the cooled marinade over the top. Place in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 hours, making sure you stir the chicken wings in the marinade a few times.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 200°F (93°C).
  4. Bake chicken wings (in the marinade) for 60 minutes, turning once. If you are after drier wings, then place on a wire rack set in a baking tray (or pan) for a further 10 minutes, 5 minutes each side.

Notes

  • Ensure the marinade cools completely before pouring it over the chicken wings.
  • Marinating the chicken wings overnight is recommended for the best flavor, but at least 2 hours is necessary.
  • If you prefer drier wings, use a wire rack set in a baking tray for the last 10 minutes of baking.
