Description

Spicy-sweet tofu with perfectly crispy edges. A delicious and easy vegan meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 13 oz (369 g) Extra Firm Tofu
  • Oil to pan fry or grill
  • 3/4 cups (178 ml) Sriracha Sauce
  • 2 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Honey or brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Squeeze the tofu between your palms to drain excess water, then wrap in kitchen roll and squeeze gently again. Discard the kitchen roll and slice the tofu into 1/2 inch thick pieces.
  3. Coat each tofu piece with marinade on both sides and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan and pan-fry the tofu for 7-8 minutes per side until crispy.
  5. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For crispier tofu, air-dry the marinated pieces for 20-30 minutes before pan-frying.
  • Maple syrup can be used as a direct substitute for honey.
  • Store leftover tofu in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days; reheat gently in a dry pan to restore crispiness.
