Description

These double-chocolate dipped cherries are a simple yet elegant dessert, featuring fresh cherries coated in both dark and white chocolate with a sprinkle of sea salt for a perfect sweet and salty combination.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 pound fresh cherries, stems intact
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and lightly spray it with oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Wash the cherries thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean hand towel, ensuring they are completely dry to help the chocolate adhere.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate melting wafers in a small bowl according to the package instructions, typically using a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  4. Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate melting wafers in a separate bowl.
  5. Dip each cherry halfway into the melted dark chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Once all cherries are dipped in dark chocolate, repeat the process with the white chocolate, dipping each cherry halfway again, creating a layered effect.
  7. Immediately sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt over the chocolate-covered cherries before the chocolate sets.
  8. Allow the cherries to sit at room temperature until the chocolate is fully set, or place them in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
  9. Serve the double-chocolate dipped cherries on a platter as a delightful dessert or a special treat for occasions like Valentine’s Day.

Notes

Ensure cherries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere better. Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. These cherries are best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
