- 1 cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, softened at room temperature
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 5 eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a standard loaf pan and line it with a parchment paper sling for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and dark cocoa powder until well combined.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until just combined.
- Gradually add the flour and cocoa mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then use the parchment sling to lift it out and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cake is completely cool, frost with ganache. Slice and serve.
