- 1 tbsp of melted unsalted butter
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1 apple, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) of honey
- 2 tsp of chopped walnuts or hazelnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush both sides of the 2 slices of sweet bread with melted butter.
- Sprinkle each slice with ground cinnamon, ensuring even coverage.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the bread slices, overlapping slightly if needed.
- Drizzle the apple-topped bread with honey.
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts or hazelnuts over the top.
- Place the prepared slices on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For the best texture, use day-old bread.
- Challah is recommended for its creamy texture, but other types can be used.
