Description

Rich, decadent chocolate mousse? Made with avocados! This surprisingly simple dessert is a crowd-pleaser.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 0.75 cups (177 ml) full fat coconut milk
  • 2 avocados
  • 7 oz (198 g) high quality chocolate
  • 1 capfull vanilla

Instructions

  1. Peel two avocados and puree them in a food processor.
  2. Add 3/4 cup of full-fat coconut milk.
  3. Pour the smooth, creamy puree into a large bowl.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  5. Add the melted chocolate to the avocado coconut puree.
  6. Mix well until thoroughly blended.
  7. Add a capful of vanilla and stir well.
  8. Taste and add more sugar if needed.
  9. Pour the mousse into individual serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours until firm.
  10. Serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate with a high percentage of cacao.
  • If your avocados are not ripe, you can speed up the ripening process by placing them in a brown paper bag with a banana for a few hours.
  • Store leftover mousse in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It may thicken slightly.
