Description

Party-ready cheesesteak sliders? Yes, please! These are cheesy, meaty, and perfect for a crowd.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lbs (454 g) sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 Slider buns
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, add oil and heat over medium-high heat.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook one more minute.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Remove vegetables from pan.
  7. Add thinly sliced steak to the same pan over medium-high heat and cook until no longer pink.
  8. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and cook another 8-10 minutes, until the broth has reduced.
  9. Combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, minced onion, and salt.
  10. Place bottom bun halves in a 9×13” pan.
  11. Distribute beef among the buns and top with vegetables.
  12. Top vegetables with cheese and the remaining bun tops.
  13. Brush thoroughly with the butter topping.
  14. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, partially freeze the sirloin steak for about 30 minutes before slicing.
  • Substitute thinly sliced ribeye or flank steak for the sirloin for a richer flavor.
  • To make ahead, assemble the sliders without the cheese and butter topping. Store covered in the refrigerator and bake just before serving.
