Description
These Caprese Sliders elevate grilled turkey burgers with fresh mozzarella, basil, and juicy summer tomatoes on a ciabatta bun.

- 1 pound ground turkey (light and dark meat)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1 1-pound ciabatta loaf, sliced into slider-sized buns
- 2 medium summer tomatoes, sliced
- Olive oil, for grilling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, chopped basil, breadcrumbs, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a patty.
- Place a slice of mozzarella on top of 6 patties. Top with the remaining patties and pinch the edges to seal the cheese inside.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and lightly brush with olive oil.
- Grill the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the cheese is melted.
- Slice the ciabatta loaf into slider-sized buns and lightly toast on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the sliders by placing a turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato and a few basil leaves. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
For a more intense basil flavor, add extra basil leaves when assembling the sliders. Store any leftover patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on a grill or in a skillet. Substitute ciabatta with any sturdy bread if preferred.
