Watermelon Margaritas

Description

You simply mash up the watermelon with a pinch of sugar, pour it through a fine-mesh sieve and into your serving glass, add the liquor and lime and voila.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chopped watermelon
  • Pinch of sugar (optional)
  • 1.5 ounces Tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau, Triple Sec, or other citrus-flavored liquour
  • 1 Tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Salt and lime to garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare glass by rubbing the rim with lime and dipping it in salt. Muddle watermelon and sugar until it is pulpy and mostly juice. Strain watermelon mixture through a fine mesh sieve and pour into prepared glass. Press down on watermelon to make sure you extract as much juice as possible. Add the tequila, Cointreau or liquor of choice, and lime juice. Add desired amount of ice and garnish glass with a wedge of lime.
