Description

Juicy turkey patties topped with bacon, basil, tomato, and Swiss cheese. A quick and flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lbs (454 g) lean ground turkey
  • 0.5 cups (118 ml) small diced white onion
  • 0.5 small jalapeño (seeded and small diced)
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 4 slices sharp swiss cheese (cut in half (or whatever cheese you desire))
  • 2 campari tomatoes (sliced)
  • 8 slices cooked bacon (halved)
  • 8 large basil leaves
  • 8 small brioche buns (sliced in half horizontally)
  • coarse dijon mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, use a fork to gently mix all slider ingredients until well incorporated. Gently form 8 small slider patties and set aside.
  2. Heat a large cast iron skillet to medium-high heat (approximately 375°F/190°C).
  3. Cook the sliders for about 5 minutes per side, or until no longer pink in the center and fully cooked.
  4. During the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, add 1/2 slice of Swiss cheese to each slider to melt.
  5. Remove from heat, tent with foil, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Place each slider on a brioche bun.
  7. Top each slider with 2 pieces of bacon, 1 basil leaf, and 1-2 slices of tomato.
  8. Serve with mustard.

Notes

  • For juicier patties, avoid overmixing the ground turkey. Gently combine ingredients until just incorporated.
  • If you don’t have brioche buns, substitute slider buns or even toasted hamburger buns.
  • To make ahead, prepare the turkey patties and store them separately from the other ingredients in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before cooking.
