Description

Nut-free fudge? Yes, please! This sunflower seed butter version is rich, creamy, and allergy-friendly.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cups (237 ml) Natural Crunch Sunbutter
  • 7 ounces (198 g) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cups (237 ml) butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang on the sides to lift the fudge out later.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the SunButter, sweetened condensed milk, and butterscotch chips. Stir constantly with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.
  3. Keep the heat low and stir without stopping. The chips and SunButter will begin to melt together after about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat when the mixture is almost fully melted but a few small chip pieces remain.
  4. Stir off the heat until the last pieces dissolve and the mixture is completely smooth and glossy.
  5. Pour into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly with the spatula. Tap the pan firmly on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles.
  6. Let set at room temperature overnight, or refrigerate for at least 4 hours until firm throughout.
  7. Use the parchment overhang to lift the fudge out. Cut into small squares with a sharp knife wiped clean between cuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a smoother fudge, briefly microwave the butterscotch chips for 15-20 seconds before adding them to the saucepan.
  • If you prefer a less sweet fudge, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk by 1-2 tablespoons.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
