Description

Sweet and savory chorizo bites are glazed with a rich honey and red wine sauce. Perfect for holiday entertaining!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lbs (454 g) chorizo sausages
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2/3 cups (157 ml) Red Wine
  • 1/3 cups (79 ml) honey
  • A pinch of smoked paprika
  • A pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chorizo and saute, stirring a few times, until the chorizo browns on both sides, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, red wine, honey, and a pinch of smoked paprika and black pepper to the pan.
  4. Bring the pan to a boil and continue to boil until the liquid reduces to a glaze thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 3-5 minutes. Do not reduce it too much as it will thicken as it cools.
  5. Serve with toothpicks for easy nibbling.

Notes

  • For a deeper flavor, use a dry red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot.
  • To make these ahead, prepare the bites and glaze up to a day in advance. Reheat gently before serving.
  • Substitute Spanish paprika for smoked paprika for a different flavor profile.
