Description

Crispy baked chicken, Parmesan-crusted perfection. Serve with warm marinara for dipping.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 lbs (1814 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced into 1-inch pieces
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon minced parsley
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preparing for Baking:
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  4. Arrange the cubed chicken in a single layer on the pan. Season evenly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Setting Up the Dipping Station:
  6. Prepare three bowls for coating the chicken.
  7. In the first bowl, add the flour.
  8. In the second bowl, pour in the beaten eggs.
  9. In the third bowl, mix together breadcrumbs or panko, grated Parmesan cheese, and minced parsley.
  10. Coating the Chicken:
  11. Coat each piece of chicken by first dipping it in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  12. Then dip it into the egg, allowing excess to drip off.
  13. Finally, roll the chicken piece in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  14. Place each coated chicken piece on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  15. Baking:
  16. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the exterior is crisp and lightly browned.
  17. Preparing the Marinara Sauce:
  18. While the chicken is baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over low heat.
  19. Serving:
  20. Serve the baked chicken poppers with the warmed marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispy poppers, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • To prevent sticking, ensure the chicken pieces aren’t overcrowded on the baking sheet.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
