On October 23rd New York City is about to have sugar coma, introducing the first festival dedicated to all things sweet, Dessert Goals.
For this one day (and Halloween ) disregard what the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020 Eight Edition says about sugar. (Hint: it’s not so good). On October 23rd New York City is about to have sugar coma, introducing the first festival dedicated to all things sweet; Dessert Goals.
Who are the sweet minds behind this festival? We can all thank the sweet duo Miraya Berke and Liang Shi for bringing together 20 of the buzziest dessert vendors in one destination. ( Williamsburg to be exact) Here are some of the vendors that you can visit at Dessert Goals:
- Joey Bats; Ever had Bolo de Bolacha? This is a traditional Portuguese sweet created with dark espresso infused biscuits, cream, walnuts and almonds. Yum.
- Rice Cream Shoppe: according to rice cream, you should have peace, love and pudding, creamy sweet rice pudding with flavors like cookies and cream.
- Butter Lane; a dessert festival would not be authentic without cake. Thankfully Berke and Shi have included the East Village fave Butter Lane. (their maple pecan banana flavor is a Willy Wonka dream come true)
- Wowfulls: this Hong Kong egg waffle will have your face and sweet tooth singing O M G. Flavors include matcha green tea with white chocolate topped with ice cream mochi & green tea Pocky.
While general admissions tickets are unfortunately sold out, Dessert Goals is releasing 10 more tickets this week if people sign up to their newsletter here by 11:59 pm tonight.
Make Sunday, October 23rd your best day ever.
Dessert Goals will be held at Dobbin Street 64 Dobbin Street Brooklyn, NY 11222
I enjoy listening to the stories of the people who devote their time to fill our stomachs with scrumptious food. And of course, experiencing and sharing my thoughts on the cuisines that span across the world.
