Shrimp Pasta in Creamy Tomato Sauce is an easy recipe and a major comfort food- perfect for enjoying during the holiday season!
  • 2 tablespoons Colavita Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 pound shrimp, without shells, and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (28 oz.) can Colavita crushed tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz. Colavita Whole Wheat Capellini Pasta
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook on one side for about 1 minute, until shrimp turns pink on that side. While it cooks, sprinkle the top of shrimp with crushed red pepper, paprika and salt. Flip shrimp and cook for about 2 more minutes.
  2. Remove shrimp to a plate and set aside.
  3. To the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook on medium-high heat for about 2 minutes and until onions are soft.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and oregano, bring to boil and reduce to simmer. Simmer for about 10 minutes, mixing occasionally. Just before removing from heat, stir in heavy cream and remove from heat.
  5. While sauce is simmering, prepare pasta according to package instructions.
  6. Add shrimp and pasta to sauce and mix everything well to combine.
  7. Serve with a sprinkle of crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese. Enjoy with a small salad and garlic bread!
